Why Women's Rugby?
It's a question a lot of us are asked...
Women's rugby is one of the fastest-growing sports around.
It's not just for boys and men anymore - and there are more and more women's clubs all over the country.
Whether you just want to play for fun or be right up there challenging for honours, there's a place for everyone.

Many people can't understand why women would want to to subject themselves to what is seen as a violent and savage sport.
Rugby is played by women for many different reasons:
- * It's an elegant and beautiful game
- * The people you can meet
- * The attitudes and camaraderie and personal growth
- * The final reason which we believe is more important than any of the others - It's just so much fun!
Here are a few of the answers the Eccleshall Ladies gave when they were asked Why Women's Rugby?
Claire Hardy - "Because I can! Someone once bet me I couldn't and I can!"
Becky Davies - "Just love being part of a team. Love the apprehension and immense satisfaction of playing the game. Love the adrenalin, the pain and the fatigue. Love getting up on a Monday morning knowing I've survived another weekend!"
Jennie Passmore - "So that I can tell my grandparents that I am a hooker!"
Ruth Mansfield - "Why not!"
So that's why we play rugby!
