Eccleshall ladies continued their unbeaten run after grinding out a 22-5 victory against Wellingborough.
With Wellingborough being new opponent's, Eccleshall took some time to settle, the first 10 minutes saw a stalemate as the scrappy play and heavy going meant scrum after scrum.
It was Eccleshall who made the breakthrough after 15mins when Hollie Murphy picked up a loose ball and showing great strength ran through Wellingborough's defence to score under the posts. Rachel Hodgkinson duly converted.
Eccleshall were now on the front foot. The pack worked hard to provide clean ball for the backs and their hard work paid off when Alex Downes flew through the Wellingborough defence to score her first of two try's either side of half time.
On the stroke of half time Wellingborough were awarded a penalty which Eccleshall failed to defend and allowed them a try, breaking their clean sheet for this year.
It was the only time Wellingborough came close to scoring as Eccleshall ran in two further try's through Alex Downs and hooker Vicky Hardy.
